In this project I wanted to find out how Spanish companies cope with customs. I focused on customs establishments in Spain. I first studied customs establishments from a normative point of view to equip myself with the tools to study real companies. Before carrying out the normative analysis on customs establishments, I studied customs rules and regulations. I then examined real-life cases by interviewing the customs directors at three companies: Industria de Turbo Propulsores, Suministros Entrepot and Universal Global Logistics.

Due to the huge increase in the world’s population, the growing percentage of people moving from rural to urban areas and the rise in per capita income, we believe that by 2050 feeding the global population will be a real challenge, leading to an increase in the demand for soybeans. Given that soybeans are currently only available from a limited number of countries, this project assesses the viability of the Gulf of Guinea as a possible alternative for providing soybeans. This would involve major changes for the many European companies that import soybeans.

This project comprises two main parts: a documentary and a crowdfunding campaign. These two parts come together to form the project Federico Beltran Masses: Remembering the Forgotten. After analysing the needs of the documentary, a crowdfunding campaign was designed, complete with rewards, using Verkami, a Catalan crowdfunding platform for funding cultural projects. Although we need €40,000 in total, we will set out to raise €20,595 net (50.47% of the total cost), since this is a more accessible figure. We will use low-cost promotions, such as social media campaigns. The Verkami page on Verkami can be found in an appendix.

Growing costs of developing and producing military equipment - epitomised in the aeronautics sector- call for a smarter allocation of resources. In Europe several countries have resorted to collaborative defense procurement programes in order to overcome budgetary constraints. This thesis analyses the relatively unexplored example of the Eurofighter to shed new light on the highly complex dynamics stemming from theses sort of programes. This thesis is able to transcend the strict boundaries of economics, to highlight the challenges for collaborative defense procurement within the EU, paying special attention to the Spanish case.

Living in a changing and globalized world, to know languages, apart from English, is increasingly a more urgent need, especially, at work. As it is known, the younger you are, the easier it is for you to acquire this knowledge. These are the reasons why I have done this study. 1 want to promote a new modality of high school, Batxibac, in the centre where I grew up (Vedruna Vall). This combines subjects in Catalan and others in French, which ends up offering students the opportunity, among others, to have a double certificate from both countries.

The thesis has the purpose of defining a technological proposal which attracts the customers to the physical store of the food industry. Therefore, the technological solution is understood as a technique of Visual Merchandising. In order to determine the right technology, a previous analysis of the sector and of the consumers must have been carried out. At the same time, the information obtained from the different sources has been contrasted with first-hand information through three focus groups and two interviews. Consequently, the most appropriate technological proposal and its implementation have been defined with collaboration of experts in technological solutions. From here, the conclusions of the work have been extractad.

Although digital transformation and e-commerce channel are future bets for many companies, in the mass market sector there is still a long way to go. Communicate and obtain data from consumers and their decisions at the point of sale, to be analyzed from their own CRM, remains subordinate to the distributor.

Carre for u is presented, a mobile application based on artificial intelligence and designed to revolutionize the shopping process in the supermarket.

The purpose of this study is to estimate the impact of the accession of Pakistan into the EU GSP+ scheme in terms of good governance. For evaluating good governance outcomes, an extension of the “GSP+ Compliance Selective Index”, devised by Lebzelter and Marx (2020), has been employed. By applying econometric methods such as the Difference-in-Differences and the Synthetic Control Method this study intends to isolate the causal impact of the program. The results indicate that the GSP+ program improves compliance outcomes in Pakistan. Nevertheless, such impact appears to weaken throughout time.

The food delivery service in China is a rapidly-growing sector, which has been highly criticized for the environmental impact caused by the packaging involved in deliveries. The aim of the study, in scientific article format, is two-fold. On the one hand, to quantitatively evaluate the impact of food delivery sector packaging over climate change, by conducting a life cycle assessment of the packaging of a commonly-demanded meal. On the other hand, the study provides a solution for a more circular economy: a feasible business initiative to decrease the packaging environmental impact of a leading company, Meituan Waimai, by introducing reusable packaging in the market.
