Tuition fees, scholarships and discounts
This section aims to give you an idea of the cost of tuition fees for the first year of the Bachelor’s Degree in International Business and Marketing. Your total tuition fees will vary depending on the number of credits you enrol for.
The table below shows the initial price per credit. If you enrol for the same credit for a second time, the tuition fees for this credit will be €147; a third time, €184; and a fourth time, €196.
Transferred credits (except when designed to facilitate student mobility, whether as part of an exchange programme or not) will be charged at the rate of 25% of these fees.

Payment options
- 100% of tuition fees (60 ECTS credits): €7.380 upon enrolment
- 50% of tuition fees (30 ECTS credits): €3.690 upon enrolment and the remaining 50% to be paid between 1 and 10 February of the following year
- In 10 instalments: €2.066.40 upon enrolment and 9 monthly payments of €612.63 (this option includes €200 interest)
- In 3 instalments of 33.3% each: the first instalment upon enrolment, the second instalment between 1 and 7 December 2021, and the third instalment between 22 and 29 March 2022, without any surcharge. (Extraordinary measure taken in response to the current situation caused by Covid-19.)
If you choose to pay by instalments (10 monthly payments), you have the option of paying the instalments for the nine months from September to May by direct debit by completing a SEPA Direct Debit mandate (you will need to pay the first instalment by promissory note). Payments will be debited from your account on the 15th day of every month. Any returned payments will be subject to a €50 charge. If you should change your bank account, you will need to complete a new SEPA Direct Debit mandate and notify the university Administration before the start of the month when you want the changes to take effect.
Funding
ESCI-UPF Scholarships
ESCI-UPF awards several scholarships based on our students’ academic performance and on students’ family income. The Scholarship Committee sets the size of scholarships and determines how they are allocated.
Documents that scholarship applicants may be required to submit (depending on the scholarship in question):
- A photocopy of their passport or ID card, together with that of all family members aged 18 or over
- A photocopy of the applicant’s (or their family’s) latest Income Tax Return (all pages, including the cover page)
- If the applicant or their family did not file an Income Tax Return, an Inland Revenue certificate justifying this exemption
- Final baccalaureate marks giving the average final score (original or attested photocopy), only for the first call for scholarship applications.
- Municipal registration certificate, in the case of students living with their parents.
- The decree absolute ending their parent's marriage, if applicable.
If students’ families have been affected by the present circumstances brought about by Covid-19, applicants should submit the relevant official documentation accrediting that a family member has been furloughed, has had to cease trading as a self-employed worker or has had to take up one of the benefits offered to self-employed workers.
Students who cancel their enrolment will cease to be eligible for a scholarship.

The different kinds of scholarships, requirements and criteria are set out below:
New students
- 1 scholarship awarded
- Covers first-year tuition fees in full
- 1 call for applications. The deadline for applications is 2 June (before university entrance exams)
- Academic requirements: an average baccalaureate score of 9.00
- Income requirements: no limit on income
- Award criteria: on a 10-point basis, based on the applicant’s student record. In the case of a tie, the scholarship will be awarded based on family income
- For subsequent years, the scholarship will cover 80% of tuitions fees
Requirements for continuing to receive the scholarships: ESCI-UPF students
Academic requirements: students should have passed all subjects for the previous year by the time they submit their documentation. Be enrolled for a minimum of 30 credits.
- Second-year students should have an average score of at least 8.00 for the previous year
- Third-year students should have an average score of at least 8.25 for the previous year
- Fourth-year students should have an average score of at least 8.50 for the previous year
New students
- 3 scholarships awarded
- Covers 80% of first-year tuition fees
- 1 call for applications. The deadline for submitting applications is 2 June (before university entrance exams)
- Academic requirements: an average baccalaureate score of 8.00
- Income requirements: a maximum per capita net tax base of €24,000 in the family’s latest Income Tax Return
- Award criteria: on a 10-point basis, 5 points will be based on their student record and 5 points on family income
- For subsequent years, the scholarship will cover 80% of tuitions fees. For students to continue to be awarded this scholarship, they must get an average score of 8.00 in their first year, 8.25 in their second year and 8.50 in their third year; and they must have a maximum per capita net tax base of €24,000
Requirements for continuing to receive the scholarships: ESCI-UPF students
Economic requirements: the maximum limit for the family’s per capita net tax base in their latest Income Tax Return will remain at €24,000 for the following three years.
Academic requirements: students should have passed all subjects for the previous year by the time they submit their documentation. Be enrolled for a minimum of 30 credits.
- Second-year students should have an average score of at least 8.00 for the previous year
- Third-year students should have an average score of at least 8.25 for the previous year
- Fourth-year students should have an average score of at least 8.50 for the previous year
New students
- 4 scholarships awarded
- Covers 50% of first-year tuition fees
- 1 call for applications. The deadline for applications is 2 June (before university entrance exams)
- Academic requirements: an average baccalaureate score of 8.00 or an average further-education score of 8.50
- Income requirements: maximum per capita net tax base of €24,000 in the family’s latest Income Tax Return
- Award criteria: on a 10-point basis, 5 points will be based on their student record and 5 points on family income. If there is a tie, the grant will be awarded to the student whose family has the lowest per capita net tax base
- For subsequent years, the scholarship will cover 50% of tuitions fees
Requirements for continuing to receive the scholarships: ESCI-UPF students
Academic requirements: students should have passed all subjects for the previous year by the time they submit their documentation. Be enrolled for a minimum of 30 credits.
- Second-year students should have an average score of at least 8.00 for the previous year
- Third-year students should have an average score of at least 8.25 for the previous year
- Fourth-year students should have an average score of at least 8.50 for the previous year
New students
- 2 scholarships awarded
- 3.000 € awarded per scholarships
- 1 call for applications. The deadline for applications is 2 June (before university entrance exams)
- Academic requirements: an average baccalaureate score of 7.00 or an average further-education score of 7.50
- Income requirements: maximum per capita net tax base of €15,000 in the family’s latest Income Tax Return
- Award criteria: on a 10-point basis, 2 points will be based on their student record and 8 points on family income. If there is a tie, the grant will be awarded to the student whose family has the lowest per capita net tax base
Requirements for continuing to receive the scholarships: ESCI-UPF students
Economic requirements: the maximum limit for the family’s per capita net tax base in their latest Income Tax Return will remain at €15,000 for the following three years.
Academic requirements: Students may have failed only one subject from the previous year by the time they submit their documentation. Be enrolled for a minimum of 30 credits.
- Second-year students should have an average score of at least 6.00 for the previous year
- Third-year students should have an average score of at least 6.00 for the previous year
- Fourth-year students should have an average score of at least 6.00 for the previous year
New students
- Between 20 and 40 grants for new first-year students
- Covers 30% of tuition fees, rising to 50% in the second call for applications, in October
- 2 calls for applications. The deadline for the first call for applications is 2 June (before university entrance exams). The deadline for the second call for applications is 31 October
- Academic requirements: for the first call for applications, an average baccalaureate score of 7.00 or an average further-education score of 7.50. For the second call for applications, at least 0.50 points higher than the minimum pass score for the first scholarship awarded for the current year in question
- Income requirements: for the first call for applications, a maximum per capita net tax base of €18.000 in the family’s latest Income Tax Return; for the second call for applications, this maximum rises to €30.600
- Award criteria: on a 10-point basis, 5 points will be based on their student record and 5 points on family income. You need at least 7 points to be awarded a scholarship. You need at least 9 points to be eligible for a 50% scholarship
Requirements for continuing to receive the scholarship: ESCI-UPF students
A minimum of 10 and a maximum of 20 scholarships in other years
Academic requirements: students should have passed all subjects for the previous year by the time they submit their documentation. Be enrolled for a minimum of 30 credits.
- Second-year students should have an average score of at least 6.50 for the previous year
- Third-year students should have an average score of at least 7.00 for the previous year
- Fourth-year students should have an average score of at least 7.25 for the previous year
Discounts
Documentation showing you are eligible for a discount on the government-regulated component of tuition fees, if applicable.
Certain people are eligible for discounts on the government-regulated component of tuition fees (details of current discounts are available from the Administration Department).
Note: if you fail to provide the necessary documentation upon enrolment, you will not be able to claim the corresponding discount.
When you enrol, you should present your original large-family card valid on the date of the start of the academic year, together with a photocopy.
If the family card states a category, this card will be just as valid as your own personal card. However, if the family card does not state a category, presenting it when you enrol will only entitle you to a limited discount on tuition fees. In either case, you should show your passport or ID card and state the number of brothers and sisters included on the large-family card or single-parent-family card.
If the card has expired, you should present proof from the Departament de Benestar i Família, or equivalent, that you are in the process of renewing the card and, before 31 December, you should present the renewed card, valid on the date of the start of the academic year, in accordance with current legislation.
Large families in the special (second or honorary) category are exempt from paying the government-controlled component of tuition fees.
Large families in the general (first) category are entitled to a limited discount (50%) on the government-controlled component of tuition fees.
When you enrol, you should present the original certificate issued by the college where you took your baccalaureate stating that you were awarded a distinction.
If you took a university orientation course, you should present your student report, together with a photocopy of the pages stating that you were awarded a distinction and giving your marks. You should also have a minimum of four As and one B in your other marks.
You will be exempt from paying the government-controlled component of tuition fees for all credits in your first year, provided you are enrolling for the first time.
When you enrol, you should present a certificate issued or validated by the Institut Català d’Assistència i Serveis Socials (original and photocopy) stating that you have a disability of 33% or higher.
NOTE: You do not need to present this certificate if you already presented it the previous year.
You will be exempt from paying the government-controlled component of tuition fees for all credits you enrol for.
Requirements:
- You should provide proof you are 65 or older
- You should not already have a degree
When you enrol, you should present your passport or ID card (original and photocopy) as accreditation.
NOTE: You do not need to provide this accreditation if you already presented it the previous year.
You should be 65 or older on the date at the start of the academic year.
You will be exempt from paying the government-controlled component of tuition fees for all credits you enrol for.
When you enrol, you should present the corresponding administrative ruling (original and photocopy). Spouses and children should also present a photocopy of the family record book.
NOTE: You do not need to provide this accreditation if you already presented it the previous year.
You will be exempt from paying the government-controlled component of tuition fees for all credits you enrol for.
The following documents prove the status of victim of gender violence within the couple:
- Conviction for a crime of gender violence.
- Protection order or other court order that establishes an injunction in favour of the victim.
- Report by the Public Prosecutor demonstrating that the applicant is a victim of gender violence.
- Report or certificate certifying that the applicant is being attended to as a victim of gender violence, issued by any of the following services:
- Social Services.
- The Actions to Combat Domestic and Gender-based Violence Unit of the Directorate General of Families of the Ministry of Labour, Social Affairs and Families.
- Specialized Intervention Services (SIE).
- Information and Assistance Services for Women (SIAD).
- Crime Victim Support Office.
- Public shelter.
- Entity subsidized by a specific public authority for support for women victims of gender violence.
- Report by the Labour and Social Security Inspectorate.
The documents proving the status of victim of gender violence within the couple and have the following validity:
- In the event of a conviction for a crime of gender violence:
- If the final sentence is less than 2 years, said status will remain for 2 years.
- If the final sentence is between 2 and 4 years, said status will remain for 4 years.
- If the final sentence is more than 4 years, said status will remain throughout the duration of the sentence.
- In the case of a protection order, injunction or report by the Public Prosecutor, the status will remain for at least one year or the duration of the injunction if greater.
- The certificate or report issued by the victim support services will be valid during the calendar year of issue.
For the purposes of accrediting the relationship of dependency of children of victims of gender violence within the couple, the following documents must be submitted:
- Family Book, in the case of children up to 21 years of age.
- A certificate of cohabitation of the family unit in the case of children over 21 years of age.
You will be exempt from paying the government-controlled component of tuition fees for all credits you enrol for.
